Distance Education has been successfully implemented for more than one hundred years. It will give the theoretical knowledge require by the demanding field of business. Students who opt for this type of education are dedicated students who remained committed to objectives, and put in the effort to complete their studies. Our LicensingAll of the Degree Programs offered by Washington International University have been reviewed, evaluated, and approved by the Bureau for Private Postsecondary and Vocational Education for the State of California. Washington International University was awarded “Institutional Approval”. This is the highest educational status awarded by the State of California. To grant the award of “Institutional Approval”, the Bureau must conduct a qualitative review and assessment of each degree program offered by this institution. State Approval means…
Our FacilityOur facility is located in a second floor suite covering 2,200 square feet This facility houses the Dean’s Office, Accounting Office, Administration Office, Student Records Office, Computer Center, an examination or study room, Compliance Office, a library, the Student Affairs Office, and the Registration Office. This modern structure is located in the city of Encino, in the Encino business district on Ventura Boulevard. This area is vital to the San Fernando Valley community and economy. WIU is only 25 minutes from Los Angeles, and is easily reached by freeways and public transportation.
Study/Computer CenterFor those students who reside in the geographical area of our offices, we have a study room and a computer center where students are always welcome to work at their own pace. LibraryThe students and faculty can contact our specialized Librarian for assistance. Our library is constantly growing. The books are purchased on the recommendation from our students and teachers. Although the number of books and periodicals is limited, these materials reflect the interest of the school community. The library contains approximately 2,000 volumes covering a full spectrum of subject areas such as general education courses: math, science, English, literature, history, and others. Also we have an extensive number of accounting, economics, business management, marketing, and finance law books. We continue to add to our growing library, to meet the need to have a larger comprehensive library to provide our students with access to excellent resources. We also provide a service to students, faculty or staff, who request a book via telephone, fax, e-mail, or mail. We will ship the material to the student at no cost to the learner. Due to the independent study nature of its programs, WIU requires students to utilize their nearest academic library. Students are encouraged to get library access to their local college and university libraries. WIU will reimburse the students up to $30.00 or we can work directly with the libraries regarding library membership fees. WIU may provide copies of reference books at $5.00 for a 20-page document and a $10.00 deposit per WIU library loan and delivery. (Please refer to the schedule of fees for details). Also, we provide a library reference service where students can contact a Resource Specialist with their questions regarding the library and research.
